DAY 1 Details
MORNING:
Welcome to San Diego!
Arrive in downtown around 11 AM and secure parking near the waterfront, Seaport Village, or, if luck is on your side, snag a coveted street spot.
Kick off the day, and stretch your legs, with a leisurely stroll through the Mercato Farmer's Market, taking in the vibrant stalls and local fare. The fresh finds and local vibes are the perfect start to a day of exploration! 🌞
From there, wander through the scenic Waterfront Park, soaking in the lush landscapes as you make your way to the iconic Unconditional Surrender statue, a must-see landmark. After capturing a few memorable snapshots, return to the car and set off for the stunning Balboa Park, where history, art, and natural beauty converge for an unforgettable experience.
Notes:
* The Mercato Farmer's Market runs from 8am to 2pm and is on W. Date Street between Front Street and Kettner Blvd.

As you make your way to the serene Japanese Friendship Garden, a well-timed stop at Cafe in the Park for a delicious drink or snack adds just the right touch of relaxation to fuel the next leg of your exploration.
Before wrapping up the adventure, take a little extra time to soak in the magic of Balboa Park. Wander past bubbling fountains, admire the artistry of the sculpture garden, and marvel at the grandeur of the outdoor organ, where music fills the air in the most unexpected way. And if that’s not enough, there’s a treasure trove of other hidden gems waiting to be discovered—so go ahead, let curiosity guide the way before heading back to the car!
